Jonno and Kieran were lucky enough to attend a Sustainable Business Network breakfast seminar this week, marking the launch of the new SBN report into The Transformative Role Of Business in Regenerating Nature in Aoteroa New Zealand.
To summarise, we learned that a great many organisations, both large and small, are keen to contribute to nature conservation and regeneration projects, but it is often a piecemeal approach, lacking a cohesive structure to maximise their efforts.
SBN has taken a leadership role in coordinating contribution, and laid a straightforward pathway to make progress. In pulling together the philanthropic, community, business and government factions, more can be acheived, and more quickly. There is a lot to do, and the scope is well beyond any single entity, but effective impact will be achieved by pooling resources and applying required funding. Hats off to the SBN for their groundbreaking work in this area.
